He opened his first brick-and-mortar at 1015 S. Main St. in November 2022.
“I love where I’m at, but now, the winter time, it’s slow for me and that’s because of the location,” Lewis said.
He and his business partner will be looking for a larger location in a high traffic area at the end of this year with seating for 150 to 200 people. His current restaurant seats 65 people.
Lewis is looking forward to having a place where he can host trivia, bingo, karaoke, live bands and watch parties for sports, in addition to selling much more than tacos.
He is hoping to stay in Miamisburg, but is open to other areas such as Centerville, Moraine and near the Dayton Mall.
Lewis changed the business name to D’s Birria and More because he wanted people to be able to tell what he offers from the name alone.
“I’m known for birria, but I make more than birria,” Lewis said.
Because he plans to move next year, the signs and windows of his Miamisburg restaurant will keep the More Than A Apron branding.
Lewis said he has loved having a brick-and-mortar location, but admitted it has been hard with the overhead and cost of food rising. This has prompted him to add a food truck to his brand.
The food truck features:
- Beef, chicken or lamb tacos
- Wings with garlic parmesan, garlic buffalo, bourbon or BBQ sauces
- Salmon, steak or chicken cheesesteaks
“I appreciate the support from all the communities I go to, the companies and people that have supported me throughout the years in order for me to grow and keep growing,” Lewis said. “I’m going to keep going and keep expanding.”
Lewis said the food truck has upcoming dates available for booking and he’s planning to add a second food truck to his brand.
The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
CHECK IT OUT TODAY, FRIDAY
The food truck will be at the Montgomery County Job Center in Dayton from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 and Dayton Children’s South Campus in Miamisburg from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7.
